Teacher Institute
The PLC Teacher Institute (TI) is a series of educator-led workshops designed to support teachers new to our member schools. It is aimed at bridging the gap between traditional teacher education and the training educators need to be successful in schools with student-centered practices including project-based and real-world learning as well as restorative justice. The sixth year (TI 6.0) will begin in the Fall of 2024.

The Teacher Institute is hosted by PLC with support from Inquiry Schools. Each session is led by two facilitators: one master PLC teacher + one teacher from past cohorts of the Teacher Institute.

TI 4.0 will take place over six monthly sessions offered during the 2022-23 school year. Five will be offered online and one will be in person in December or January.
Online sessions will take place from 5–6 pm and the in-person session will be held from 5–7pm. -
Feedback from participants in the first three years of the Teacher Institute has been overwhelmingly positive. This despite having to move to an all online format in years 2 and 3. Read more about participants’ feedback here.
