The Philadelphia Learning Collaborative was an educator-driven organization that operated from 2018 through 2025 to support student-centered, deeper learning across the city.
PLC was dedicated to increasing the number and quality of student-centered schools in the city, which means more schools that: elevate student voice and choice, care for students through strong advisory structures that anchor solid student-teacher relationships, have school cultures shaped by restorative justice practices, utilize project-based or mastery-based learning models, and value real-world learning.
To that end, PLC worked in three priority areas: educator and partner development; real-world connections; and movement building. “Legacy packages” are available for each of PLC’s major initiatives to ensure that the resources developed and lessons learned are available to anyone interested in this work.
Membership & Leadership
PLC’s membership included public, private, and charter schools; non-profit education organizations and school systems; and colleges and universities that train future teachers.
